This is the best Minaal yet—the little details make all the difference. I own the 1.0, have gifted the 2.0, and now have the 3.0. Basically they fixed the little annoyances and upgraded things I didn't know I wanted. They upgraded the laptop harness and makes it accessible from either direction. The passport hidden pocket has spoiled me. And don't get me started on those zippers—my original have taken eight years of abuse with never a tear nor a problem. Bottom line: the 3.0 is worth it.

Seriously glad I found this bag! I've been travelling non-stop for the past year to over 10 countries and this has come with everywhere without complaining on being shoved into tight spots, dropped onto pavements/rocks/dusty floors, and overloaded (gotta bring back gifts!).

The pockets are cleverly designed, and there always seems to be a little extra nook that you can take advantage of.

I love the laptop section and that I don't need to worry about it smashing to pieces. I love the hidden pocket on the back where I can keep extra money, passport, and other valuables (please don't rob me!).

I'll admit I was a little hesitant to purchase at first due to the price but I'm so happy I did because this truly feels like a bag for life (not-withstanding their incredible life-time guarantee).

The bag is expensive at $350 but it's as perfect of a one-bag as I've ever seen. The packing cubes, however, feel very cheap and the zippers are likely to fail before long. Definitely not worth $49

I waited to write this review until my fourth international trip with this bag. In short, I would absolutely recommend this for anyone looking for a single backpack to travel with for both work and personal holidays.

I did a good deal of research before purchasing this, as I needed a bag I could use as my single bag with which to travel for work. This meant it had to be “sleek” enough to bring straight from a flight to a work meeting (i.e., not make me look like a backpacker), and which could accommodate carrying a blazer or suit. I also needed to be able to fit two computers, and a pair of dress shoes, in the bag.

This bag has surpassed all my expectations. Not only does it meet every single one of my requirements, but it is also versatile enough to have served me on several work trips, a personal 3-week backpacking trip, and on a 5 day canoe-camping expedition. It’s comfortable and lightweight, and wears really well for long periods — especially with the additional waist straps.

On work trips especially, I love the laptop pockets, and I also really like that it is a bit taller than other comparable backpacks — meaning that it doesn’t extend outwards from my body as much. I am six foot tall, and it is perfect for my frame. This, along with the all-black fabric and ability to stow the straps when not in use, means the bag has a very sleek profile. It fits all I need for a work trip, comparable to a carry-on suitcase.

I've used it for months across three continents and many airports, and the fabric is still in great shape (I do take care to wipe it clean after each trip). The waterproof cover stood up to prolonged rain on my camping trip, and I used it throughout that trip to keep the exterior clean and dirt free while in the woods.

With compression packing cubes and a personal fanny pack across my chest, I was able to fit everything I needed for a 3 week trip including two pairs of shoes. Bonus; it fits into the tiniest of overhead bins as long as you pack it smartly (the soft clam shell does have the ability to pack outwards). In short, I genuinely could not recommend it enough!

I have only used it for one trip so I can't really speak for the quality but it looks and feel high quality. Smart layout, plenty of pockets. Comfortable to carry and fits well, I'm 6'3 on the heavier side. I'm very happy with this purchase.

This backpack served me very well on my 2 week vacation across Japan. The design and build quality made accessing and organizing everything very easy. Highly recommend as a carry-on sized travel companion
