I have found this to be a great size for quick commutes (haven’t had a chance to travel with it yet, but will be this week). Only gripe is if the zipper pocket is unzipped, you can not bend over (i.e. to tie your shoes) without everything falling out.
Why do I love and use these products? They are FUN! Clever and innovative design. Great workmanship and materials. Be sure to watch videos to be sure you are aware of ALL the cool features. Review from time to time since new needs arise depending on travel circumstances AND you will likely be surprised how Minaal’s clever design will probably accommodate those new uses. This product can be easily interchanged and used to suit the particular travel configuration I’ve adopted for that trip.
I didn't think I would ever need the shoulder strap, since I really try to keep weight evenly distributed with a backpack. However, on longer trips I like to wear the Carry-on 2.0 and carry the Daily Bag. After one trip carrying the Daily as a briefcase I realized the strap was the way to go. After doing the exact same trip with the should strap, I was much happier and more comfortable.
If you like to carry shoulder bags, this is especially a no-brainer of a purchase.
Game changer during travel when quick bag access is needed frequently (camera/passport/papers). Note that it doesn't roll up for storage in the bag, but I've found it slides easily in the laptop compartment of the 2.0. I had one issue after a few years where a metal piece broke from over use, however the Minaal team quickly replaced it, no worries.
It is really nice to be able to switch between a backpack and a luggage with side carry. I am able to ease through the crowds at airport and enjoy the luxuries of leaving early not waiting for checked luggage.

This second paragraph is where some companies might list their endless conditions, exclusions, and sub-clauses to their reckless first sentence. But we’re big believers in common sense – a defect is a defect – and we won’t use legal jargon as a rock to hide under when you come knocking. Problems with our gear are incredibly rare, but we know how good it feels to have a solid warranty backing you up when you’re on the road. If any of our gear falls short of our high quality-control standards, we’ll make it right.
Ultimately, any gear that takes a severe beating over a long period of time will eventually show signs of wear and tear. This isn’t considered a defect – but drop us a line if you’re in doubt, and we’ll be straight with you either way.
